Er zijn tegenwoordig allerlei geavanceerde hulpmiddelen om je gitaar te stemmen, maar de meest eenvoudige en niet minder doeltreffende manier is nog altijd de stemfluit.

De stemfluit klinkt en werkt een beetje als een mondharmonica, al zou Toots Thielemans er weinig liedjes op kunnen spelen. De BPP-6 geeft de tonen E-A-D-G-B en een hoge E, corresponderend met de 6 snaren van de gitaar.
