The 60 series has solid sitka spruce top and rosewood sides and back. Sonorous and bold, loud and clear, great playability and a classic, clean look. The rosewood back and sides are what makes this guitar so sonorous and clear sounding. The volume is higher than with its mahogany counterpart, the D-40. The low end is much bolder, the high frequencies are thicker and clearer with a lot of body. A dreadnought it typically played in strumming style, the big top has a slower attack time than the smaller bodies guitars, giving the dreadnought a full and round sound that is commonly loved by guitarists who use a pick.
